Volturno has THE BEST pizza. I've always wanted to come here but have been drawn in by other restaurants nearby. I finally got the chance to go and buy have I been missing out.
We ordered the bruschetta and the Volturno pizza. It was the perfect amount for two at lunch time. The bruschetta was a pillowy sponge of heirloom tomato and fresh ricotta.
The Volturno pizza has the most delicious, buttery crust with fresh Parma ham and arugula.
I would've licked the plates had people not been sitting around us. -

pizza pizza pizza!
Lots of good flatbreads here, reasonably priced, with a spacious area that fits right in with the rest of this cool downtown vibe. You'll always see this place full during weeknights.
I ordered a starter soup for myself, cucumber, which was a a refreshing way to start the meal, although not a fan of them olives...
We orderes 3 pizzas to share for our party of 3. Mushroom, pinenuts, and meat. All very light, a bit different tasting than what you'd expect. They look thin but fill you up, and we had to take a full one home.
Friendly staff and quick service. Perfect for a bite to eat before heading next door to the brewery! -

Typical nice pizza joint. Friendly service.
The pizza: good crust thin and crisp, good toppings
The menu: Large selection of pizzas and cocktails, as well as beers on tap
The location: large with high ceilings and outdoor seating. Great for large groups.
Note: the Calabresse has no sauce
Good, but nothing special to rave about. -

I was meeting a friend in the area, and he was in the mood for pizza. So we strolled over to Volturno's, my third visit here in just the last few weeks. We selected:
POLPETTE PIZZA $18: BEEF, PORK, & VEAL MEATBALL, RICOTTA, MOZZARELLA, SAN MARZANO SUGO
SAUTEED CALAMARI $17: CALABRIAN CHILI CAPONATA, LEMON ZEST, KALAMATA OLIVE, GARLIC, PARSLEY
Our service was excellent throughout our early dinner, and though it was quiet upon our arrival, it was already filling up upon our departure. We thought the pizza was very good, though were less impressed with the calamari. My friend said he preferred Rhode Island Calamari, with more peppers and a spicier finish.
Overall we enjoyed our dinner and agreed that this visit merited a four star Yelp review. -

Ran in for a quick, very quick lunch. Empty. Very empty and very slow to seat me. Didn't even order pizza because by the time they did seat me. I was in a rush. But they were graceful and took good care of me as I enjoyed my lovely and perfect OCTOPUS. Perfectly charred, can cut with a fork. Crispy potatoes and a very spicy sauce it just hit the spot. Thanks guys!
